It was the second stop whenever we headed south to Puerto Nuevo. The first one was in Tijuana to buy some Cohibas. This second stop was a bit longer and really marked the starting point. Why wouldn’t it — we were in Mexico, yes only 23 miles deep, but sitting at a bar that was known for it’s Bloody Maria’s and it is still morning, so what could be better.
The place has changed considerably from only a few years back when there was an aviary in the front dining area that you walked past to get to the bar in the back. The bar was huge, but maybe seemed much larger as we always seemed to be the only patrons, but again, it was still early morning. Maybe having an aviary in the same area where people are served food wasn’t the best idea, I don’t know why it’s gone but the place has been decorated with rustic items and lots of plants. I rather like it, but have never eaten one menu item ever — just a couple Bloody Maria’s before getting on the Carr. Transpeninsular/México 1 and driving further south.
